Lebanon presents an official complaint to the Security Council against the Zionist regime


BEIRUT-Lebanon intends to submit an official complaint to the United Nations Security Council regarding the deliberate aggression of the Zionist regime that took place on Friday, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, reports the Anadolu agency quoted by Infopal. The ministry said the Zionist regime had violated Lebanon's sovereignty by shelling areas in the south of the country.

“Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Abdallah Bou Habib has instructed the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York to file an official complaint with the United Nations Security Council regarding the impact of Israel's bombing and deliberate aggression this morning [Friday] in areas of southern Lebanon,” the ministry said.

He called the Israeli aggression "a blatant violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and a blatant violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 [...] (which) threatens the stability that southern Lebanese had achieved."UN Security Council Resolution 1701 calls for a complete cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israel from southern Lebanon.On Friday morning, the Israeli military launched airstrikes into Lebanon just hours after striking the Gaza Strip.In a statement, it said it had struck targets belonging to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas in southern Lebanon.
