Meta, Zuckerberg company announces another new 10,000 layoffs

WASHINGTON - Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in a letter to employees, announced a corporate restructuring plan that will result in another 10,000 layoffs, in addition to the 11,000 already made in November. Zuckerberg spoke of a "difficult choice". For what he called "the year of efficiency," Zuckerberg said "low priority" projects would be cut. Meta's decision is part of a crisis in the US technology sector which has laid off over 280,000 workers since 2022.
