Nicaragua's support for the courageous Palestinian nation in the fight against Israel's terrorist aggression.
Marking the 35th anniversary of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, the Nicaraguan government expressed its solidarity and support for the “courageous Palestinian people” in their struggle against Israel’s “terrorist aggression.” According to the Sputnik website, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, his wife and Vice President Rosario Morillo said in an official address to Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority: “In these difficult times, when the Palestinian people, mainly women and children, have become victims of terrorist attacks Israel, we want to join the solidarity of the international community and convey our message of hope and brotherly solidarity to the brave people of Palestine."
Ortega and his wife also celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, written by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish and announced on November 15, 1988 by Yasser Arafat, then head of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Earlier, Ortega, in reaction to events in Palestine, accused the United States of financing and supporting the armed conflict of the Zionist regime against the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. It should be noted that Latin American countries have taken a firm position against the crimes of the occupation regime related to the Israeli genocide against the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Following Bolivia's bold decision to sever diplomatic relations with Israel, the Central American country of Belize followed suit. The governments of Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba have also repeatedly condemned the Zionist regime.
