The massacre of an entire family made up of five members, Arab citizens in the occupied territories. It is another example of the wave of murders and crime that is overwhelming the Israeli Arab minority. The massacre took place the day before yesterday, Wednesday, a day of particular brutality, which began with an ambush in a congested artery of Haifa where, in broad daylight, hooded assailants fired bursts of automatic weapons from close range at a car in which a man of about 50 years of age was travelling. Who, riddled with bullets, died on the spot. A few hours later, in the village of Bosmat Tivon, on Mount Carmel, unknown men broke into an apartment and with firearms mowed down everyone present indiscriminately. Five people, including a woman, were killed.

The police do not rule out that the second episode could be a retaliation for the Haifa ambush. Since the beginning of the year, 186 Israeli Arabs - men, women, children and elderly people - have been killed in incidents of violence. In the first nine months of 2022 there were 75 deaths. The Arab political leadership in the occupied territories directs harsh criticism towards the Israeli regime, especially the extremist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir. MP Ahmad Tibi wrote on executive emergency.
