The Ministry of Waqf in Gaza has reported that 604 mosques have been completely demolished following recent Israeli military actions. According to the ministry, these attacks have left more than 200 other mosques with varying degrees of damage.
The Ministry's report indicates that the Israeli regime's rockets and aerial assaults have caused extensive destruction. The Ministry of Endowment in Gaza further detailed that over 60 cemeteries have been targeted, with instances of graves being disturbed and bodies being exhumed.
Additionally, the report states that 15 buildings associated with the Ministry of Waqf have been destroyed, including the ministry's headquarters, the Radio Qur'an headquarters, the Waqf management office in Khan Yunis, and the center for storing ministry documents and records. Tragically, 91 ministry employees have lost their lives during these attacks.
The conflict, which intensified with an Israeli military offensive on October 7 of the previous year, has resulted in over 35,000 deaths and 79,000 injuries among Palestinian civilians. The ongoing violence has also displaced hundreds of thousands, forcing many to seek refuge amid the devastation.
The Gaza Strip continues to endure severe damage and loss of life as the conflict with Israel persists, with widespread calls for humanitarian aid and international intervention to address the escalating crisis.
