Pentagon, new US aid to Kiev for 2 billion

The US Department of Defense has announced a new 2 billion dollar security aid package for Ukraine. This was reported by the US media citing Pentagon sources. This funding awarded through Ukraine's Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) will facilitate - according to Politico - the acquisition of missile launchers and Hawk missiles, as well as two advanced Patriot air defense missile systems.
One component of the package is the Patriot Advanced Capability Missile-3 (Pac-3) manufactured by Lockheed Martin. The other is the Guidance Enhanced Missile (Gem-T) manufactured by Raytheon Technologies, which boasts improved capabilities in countering tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and enemy aircraft, complementing the Pac-3 missile system.
