As a result of the visit, it is planned to adopt a joint statement of the heads of state, sign intergovernmental and other documents.
Gurgen Arsenyan, a former MP of the RA NA "Civil Agreement" faction, was appointed RA ambassador to the Russian Federation.
"Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, Gurgen Arsenyan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation," said the decree of RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The residence will be in the capital of Russia, Moscow.
To remind, Gurgen Arsenyan confirmed in October 2023 that he was offered the appointment of ambassador to the Russian Federation, but he never received an answer. Later, the mass media wrote that the decision to approve Arsenyan's agreement was made in May, when RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan left for Moscow to participate in the EAEU session.
Arsenyan submitted the application to drop the mandate on August 6.
Let us add that until now, the RA ambassador to the Russian Federation was Vagharshak Harutyunyan, who was appointed to that position in January 2022.
