Putin's emphasis on identifying arms smuggling channels to Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin said:
All arms smuggling channels to Russia should be identified and monitoring measures should be strengthened. According to RT, Vladimir Putin, on Friday, in a videoconference meeting with members of the Russian Security Council, instructed the Security Council of this country to investigate the issue of arms smuggling to Russia. At this meeting, Viktor Zolotov, head of the National Guard, and Vladimir Kolokoltsov, Russian Interior Minister, presented their reports. The meeting was attended by Valentina Matvinko, Chairman of the Federation Council, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Council, Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Defense, Alexander Bortnikov. Those present were the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and Sergey Ivanov, Special Representative of the Presidency for Environmental Protection, Environment and Transport of Russia.
