The "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Armenian government is of paramount importance in terms of neutralizing energy risks and forming much more adequate commodity, economic, and trade relations, as well as managing these risks and having opportunities to supply goods.
This was mentioned by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan during the two-panel discussion "Challenges and Opportunities Towards 2025", speaking about the diversification policy implemented by Armenia.
Mher Grigoryan noted that there are no separate risks in the world, and from the perspective of consolidated risks, it would be much more practical if these layers could be regularly discussed and opened up, because not everything, regardless of our wishes or tastes, is so simple.
"We have traditional interconnections that are not only political, because, nevertheless, over the course of 30 years or throughout modern history, adaptations have taken place, both economic and logistical, which lead to the fact that before taking drastic steps, one must very well assess what consequences one or the other component may have. And in many cases, when we try to assess, for example, the lack of an energy resource or product and discuss that issue separately, it seems like a manageable situation, but when we discuss that issue from the perspective of the state of transport and infrastructure, we get a completely different picture," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
According to him, very often these problems also arise with energy resources, because in many cases there is a price for an energy product in international markets, but then it is noticed that logistics costs not only increase that price, but also simply make supply impossible.
"In that sense, I think that if we try to assess the gas supply infrastructure in the region together, we must take into account that when managing sustainable and energy risks, we must take into account that the problem is not only in the price of the product or the availability of the product, but also in its supply capabilities, which in many cases are simply physically limited," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
In his opinion, in this sense, the "Crossroads of Peace" project is of paramount importance for neutralizing these risks and forming much more adequate commodity, economic, and trade relations.
Mher Grigoryan also emphasized the importance of producing competitive products in today's world, emphasizing that if the product is of high quality, then there are simply no problems with its sale and export.
