Reaping the Whirlwind: The Devastating Toll of Operation Al-Aqsa on Israel's Food Production

One of the most devastating outcomes of Operation Storm Al-Aqsa for Israel has been the nearly total destruction of its agriculture sector.
The farmlands surrounding the Gaza Strip, which once supplied 50% of the daily calorie intake of Israelis, have been cut off from the production and distribution chain.
Also, the devastation wrought by the Israel war machine along its own northern areas is quite serious.
For years, Israeli authorities have endeavored to develop an agrarian economy in northern Israel; however, Hezbollah's involvement in Operation Al-Aqsa Storm has hampered these large-scale initiatives

As a result, Israel faces an impending food security catastrophe.

The areas mentioned above provided a considerable amount of Israel's fruits, vegetables, summer crops, grains, and even livestock and poultry products.

Yet, since the onset of the Israeli onslaught against Gaza, most agricultural output in these areas has either declined or ceased entirely
Many farmers express a reluctance to return, while numerous farms have been destroyed by the ravages of war.

The exodus of approximately 30,000 farm workers, whether foreign or Palestinian, has further aggravated the agricultural dilemma in northern Israel.

Restoring these damages will not be feasible in the short term, suggesting that even with the cessation of conflict, Israel must grapple with insurmountable challenges.
