Rival parties in Sudan welcome the UN plan to stop the war during Ramadan
The warring parties in Sudan have well received the resolution of the United Nations Security Council that called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the country during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan has issued a statement explaining that it is grateful to the United Nations Security Council for the resolution but has given four conditions for its implementation. The conditions include the withdrawal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in civilian areas and important public facilities as well as from the RSF in the provinces and cities affected by the war since the Jeddah Declaration of Commitment to Protect Civilians issued in 2023. For its part, the Rapid Aid Forces, (RSF), said yesterday Saturday that they are happy with the resolution and expressed their hope that it will reduce the suffering of the people of Sudan by facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid and opening the daily activities of citizens. Those who suffer the most in the war for power in Sudan are ordinary citizens RSF has emphasized that it is ready to sacrifice itself for the well-being of the people of Sudan and has called for dialogue to facilitate the implementation and respect of the resolution. On the part of the independent politicians of Sudan, they have also received the resolution well, including Khalid Omer Yousif of the Coordination of People's Democratic Forces (Taqaddum) party, who has praised the resolution and called on the military generals who lead the two groups of the Movement Support Forces, the RSF and the Soldiers. of Sudan (SAF) fully respected the resolution. Before that, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres had asked the military generals in Sudan to respect the holy month of Ramadan by ending the war quickly within that holy month.
