Russia, Defense: U.S. Patriot system destroyed in Ukraine

Russia says it carried out the latest missile strike against Kiev after neutralizing the US-supplied Patriot air defense system. The Pentagon also confirmed the news by admitting that the Russians destroyed Kinzhal, a Patriot surface-to-air weapon system deployed in Ukraine, with a hypersonic missile launch. Russian Khinzal missiles are hypersonic, i.e. capable of reaching very high speeds (around 12,000 km/h) in proximity to the target.
