In line with Ukraine's frequent demand to join NATO and receive aid of several million dollars from Western countries and following the recent actions of Western countries near the border of Russia, President Vladimir Putin the country on February 24, 2022 responding to a request for military assistance from the principalities of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine he ordered a military offensive in the Donbas region. The 20-month war in Ukraine with its various political, military, economic, social and even cultural effects is still ongoing for Western countries to send weapons to the country. European and Western countries, and especially the United States, by increasing pressure and imposing sanctions on Russia, not only have not taken steps to stop the war, but continue to fuel the conflict by sending light and heavy weapons to Kyiv. Russian officials and some Western media experts have called the war in Ukraine a proxy war between the West and Russia. Russia has repeatedly said that sending Western weapons to Ukraine will prolong the conflict and lead to unpredictable results.
