Russian Crude Oil Exports to China Soar
Russian crude oil exports to China reached the highest level this year in December. Russia Today quoted Kepler Energy on Sunday (17/12/2023) reporting that Russian oil shipments from Far Eastern ports reached a high of 925,000 barrels per day in December, and 85 percent of them went to China. Since last year, Russia has diversified its energy sources in response to Western sanctions after the European Union stopped accepting the country's oil by sea. Russian oil companies have changed East Siberian crude oil supply routes to Asia and continued via rail transport routes.
