  Russia reacts to the cyber warfare launched by the West. Moscow has fined Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) 3 million rubles for not deleting false information about its special military operation in Ukraine. This was reported by the Tass news agency. A number of sites in the Mountain View giant are under observation by the Kremlin for failing to remove illegal content. Russia has therefore opted to issue a fine of 3 million rubles which, at current exchange rates, corresponds to approximately 320,000 dollars. A fine therefore limited from the point of view of the economic impact on Google accounts. Even Reddit and Wikimedia sanctioned On August 15, it was announced that Reddit also received a sanction from the Kremlin, the first since the beginning of the conflict.

This is a fine of 2 million rubles, about 210 thousand dollars. According to reports from Risa, which cited a Moscow court, the fault of the social network is the same attributed to Google: not having deleted prohibited content that contained fake news on the Russian military campaign in Ukraine. Same amount and same reason, on August 15th, also for the Wikimedia Foundation, the foundation that powers wiki projects, including Wikipedia. The foundation had previously responded that the content on its encyclopedia was in line with the company's standards.
