Russia: telephone conversation between Putin and the president of the Palestinian Authority Abbas

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin today had a telephone conversation with the counterpart of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Mahmoud Abbas. This was reported by the "RIA Novosti" news agency, based on what was announced by the Kremlin. During the phone call, Abbas declared his "full support" for Moscow's actions to protect the country's constitutional order after the June 24 attempted uprising by the Wagner paramilitary group.

For his part, Putin congratulated the feast of Eid al Adha, the feast of sacrifice, and reiterated his principled position in favor of a "just and sustainable" solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, respecting the " existing international legal basis”. The two sides have expressed their mutual intention to further develop the already "traditionally friendly" bilateral agreements and therefore to continue the contacts.
