Russian diplomat accuses West

Russian diplomat at the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, has accused the West of "cowboy" ways and "arm-twisting" by some countries during the vote at the UN General Assembly session last week that called on Moscow to roll out its troops withdraw from Ukraine.

"Methods to achieve the result are again "cowboy methods," Polyansky wrote on Sunday on his Telegram platform.According to our calculations, almost 30 pairs of arms were twisted," Polyansky added.

On Thursday, the 193-strong UN General Assembly completely isolated Russia and called for a "comprehensive, just and lasting peace" in line with the UN founding charter on the eve of the anniversary of the Ukraine war.

32 countries including Iran abstained while seven countries including Russia voted against the resolution.u Russia accuses the West of being willing to sacrifice Ukraine and the world to defeat Russia.

"In their desire to defeat Russia, they cannot simply sacrifice Ukraine, they are ready to plunge the whole world into the abyss of war," Russia's UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya told the UN General Assembly's special session on Wednesday.

Nebenzya added that it is not Ukraine that is fighting Russia, but a collective West. All decency is set aside and the aim is to inflict a strategic defeat on my country. The US thinks the planet is their territory,” the Russian envoy said.As of Friday, a year has passed since Russia began its so-called "military special operation" to "denazify" and "demilitarize" Ukraine.
