Scholz: Russia take a step for peace in Ukraine
For German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Russia should be the first to take a step towards achieving peace in Ukraine. "It is clear that Russia has attacked Ukraine, and Russia is the country that needs to do something now to make peace is possible," Scholz said at a joint press conference with Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins in Berlin. "The first thing Moscow has to do is withdraw its troops." The chancellor said attention should now be paid to the "security policy situation on NATO's eastern flank".
