South African Parliament votes decisively to completely sever diplomatic relations with Israel
The South African Parliament by an absolute majority approved the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and the complete cessation of diplomatic relations with this regime.
According to the Africans news agency, after the South African parliament voted on Tuesday to suspend diplomatic relations with the Israeli regime, Hebrew media are now reporting that South African MPs have decided to completely sever relations with the Zionist regime. The final decision on the implementation of this bill must be made by the administration of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. On Tuesday, members of the South African Parliament voted by 248 votes to close the Zionist regime's embassy in Pretoria and suspend all diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime until a ceasefire is established in the Gaza Strip. The bill was introduced by the left-wing opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters and attracted support from South Africa's ruling African National Congress party. This happened at a time when this bill was opposed by members of the Democratic Coalition party, the majority of whose members are white and supporters of the Zionist regime. Ramaphosa stressed that the Zionist regime is committing a war crime and genocide in the Gaza Strip. The people of South Africa, given the similar pattern of Zionist occupation to the apartheid occupation of South Africa in past decades, feel close solidarity with the Palestinians. In recent years, a growing number of human rights groups have said that the Zionist apartheid regime's policies towards the Palestinians are similar to the crimes of the apartheid regime.
