The government of Sudan has strongly criticized the statement of the United States accusing the government of Khartoum of preventing the people of the country from receiving humanitarian aid.

 In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan has said, the accusations of the United States against the Sudan National Army SAF and the Rapid Support Forces RSF are false and have no basis. The statement dismissed the American claims against it and stressed that the government of Khartoum is determined to adhere to the Jeddah Declaration to Protect Citizens signed on May 11 last year 2023. The Sudanese government has said that it does not understand why the US statement avoided directly and openly condemning the crimes and human rights violations committed by the RSF. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan has made it clear that the allegations of the United States about preventing humanitarian aid from reaching eligible Sudanese have no basis. Fighting in Sudan On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States issued a statement claiming that the Sudanese National Army SAF and the Rapid Aid Forces RSF are preventing the perpetrators from reaching humanitarian aid in the north of Africa. This is happening while the battle for power continues to rage in Sudan. Regional and international efforts to convince the two rival sides to sit down at the negotiating table and resolve their differences have not been successful so far. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), more than 13,000 people have been killed since the fighting between the parties began in Sudan in mid-April last year 2023.
