Swedish citizens have once again taken to the streets to protest the continued blasphemy of the Quran in the country. Salwan Momika, a Swedish national who has repeatedly committed acts of blasphemy against the Quran in this European country, repeated his crimes on Sunday in the Rosengaard immigrant area of Malmö. Protesters on Monday (4/9/2023) demonstrated and were confronted by police in Malmö, Sweden's third largest city. Muslim youths angry at Swedish police for allowing the desecration of the Quran to return to the country burned tires in the Rosengard neighborhood.

Swedish police claimed that protesters set fire to dozens of cars in different parts of Malmö, including garages, and threw stones at police. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a press conference described the Malmö protests as horrific. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) responded to the recent Quran burnings in Sweden and Denmark last month, calling on its member states to take appropriate political and economic action against Sweden and other countries that allow the burning of Muslim holy books.(PH)
