The Washington Post reported in an article that the US intelligence community believes that Ukraine will not achieve its goals in its counter-offensive against Russian positions. According to the TASS news agency, the US intelligence community has reported that Ukraine is unable to reach Melitopol and paralyze the bridge connecting Crimea. The US intelligence community made this conclusion based on Russia's ability to defend its territories. Such predictions are likely to ask Kiev and Ukraine-backing Western countries why the counter-offensive, which has received tens of billions of dollars, including in the form of Western equipment and weapons, has failed to achieve its goals.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian army has carried out unsuccessful offensive operations since June 4, 2023. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced on July 11, 2023 that the losses of the Ukrainian army since the beginning of the counteroffensive in Kyiv exceeded 43 thousand people. Kyiv forces also lost about 5,000 units of various military equipment, including 26 fighter jets and 25 Leopard tanks. Russian President Vladimir Putin also stressed earlier that Ukrainian forces have failed to succeed on any of the fronts in the war zone.
