The EU Court rejects the reform of the Polish justice system
The EU Court of Justice rejects the Polish judicial reform, accepting the appeal of the European Commission according to which the provision represents a threat to the independence of judges. The EU Court communicates it in a note. On 14 July 2021, the European judge had ordered the suspension of the application of the rules relating in particular to the competences of the disciplinary chamber of the Supreme Court. In October 2021, the Court imposed a fine of one million euros a day for not suspending the disciplinary chamber, a fine halved last April after partial compliance by Warsaw.
