The Ministry of Health of Sudan has announced that it has sent emergency medical equipment to the regions affected by the ongoing war crisis in the country.

According to the government of Sudan, 250 tons of essential medicines, antibiotics and emergency medical equipment have been sent to those areas.

Sudan's Minister of Health, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim has announced the news and added that the aid has been given to reduce the severity of the humanitarian emergency after the Rapid Support Force (RSF) committed serious crimes in more than 100 villages of Gezira State. .

He said, the situation is so bad in the Gezira region that emergency measures have to be taken to reduce the suffering of the residents of that region. 

The war crisis has greatly affected health services in Sudan, especially in war zones. Many pharmacies in Khartoum have been closed as a result of the fighting, causing a shortage of essential medicines and raising their prices.

The outbreak of diseases such as cholera, malaria, measles and dengue fever has increased the health disaster in the country. The Ministry of Health of Sudan says, more than 28,000 cases of cholera have been reported and at least 800 people have lost their lives to the disease.

The war between military generals that started in April 2023 has already led to 24,850 people being killed and millions of others displaced in Sudan.
