The Guardian: Experience proves that ground operations in Gaza always fail

The Guardian, Wednesday (25/10/2023) in an article written by Paul Rogers, Professor of peace studies at Bradford University, reported that the Israeli Armed Forces were ready to carry out a ground operation in northern Gaza, and the target was to eradicate Hamas. According to him, the Prime Minister of the Zionist Regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, insists on destroying Hamas, and this will result in thousands of Palestinians being killed, and tens of thousands more injured. "This will pose a strategic danger for Israel, because instead of eliminating Hamas, a ground operation will actually encourage tens of thousands of very angry Palestinian youths to decide to join Hamas," added Rogers.

He emphasized, "The approach used by Netanyahu will actually worsen this very complicated situation. A humanitarian-oriented ceasefire can still be realized, but it will never happen if the United States, Britain and the European Union don't want it. If so then these countries share responsibility for what happens next." Previously, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israel had accepted a US request to suspend ground operations into the Gaza Strip. According to this US newspaper, the Pentagon is currently trying to activate at least six air defense systems in the West Asia region. The air defense system, which will be used to protect US troops from rocket and drone attacks, has been installed in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
