An analyst for the British newspaper The Guardian described the pair Elon Musk and Donald Trump as a two-headed dragon that will sow diplomatic chaos in relations between Washington and its allies.
Julian Borger noted in his report: Europe has been preparing for the challenge of Donald Trump's return since the US presidential election last November, but it seems that Trump's threat to European stability has arrived sooner than expected and is even more serious than pessimistic observers predicted. And so it is.
As reported by Russia Today, Berger, referring to the support of American billionaire Elon Musk and Trump's ally for far-right parties in Europe, writes: "European capitals are now in a difficult situation, pondering how to respond to Trump. They are angry about Elon Musk's blatant interference in favor of extremists and are worried that they could become the target of personal complaints from Trump and Musk!
Julian Borger points to Trump's territorial ambitions, including his attempt to annex Greenland to the United States, and notes: Denmark, a NATO member, is now at odds with Trump, as he has announced his intention to annex Greenland and threatened tariffs if he opposes the annexation, sparking a political crisis. The Danish government has been very cautious in its response, holding emergency meetings with the king and Greenlandic leaders.
The British analyst also highlighted concerns among US allies about the implications of Donald Trump's presidency beyond trade for the security of Europe and Ukraine, noting that European leaders now believe that with Donald Trump in power, the war in Ukraine will enter a new phase in which there will be a struggle to attract Trump's positive thoughts and opinions to continue arms supplies to Ukraine.
At the end of the report, the author quotes Elizabeth Brough, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, who said: "It is ironic, if not tragic, that when we thought we had deployed all our tools to reduce the risk of interference from Russia, China, and Iran, we have now become a target for insiders!"
