The leader of the Republic of Iran participated in the voting of the second round of the parliamentary elections

With the transfer of the press office of the leader, the leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, took part in the second round of the elections of the 12th district of the Islamic Parliament of Iran this Friday morning in Imam Khomeini Hosseiniye.

The voting of the leader was covered by dozens of local and international journalists and broadcasted live by local and foreign media.

After the voting, noting that the elections are the evidence of the expression of the will of the people, the leader added: "Any citizen who is in favor of the country's progress and great goals should participate in the elections .  "

Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The more people participate in the elections, the stronger the parliament will be, and the stronger the parliament, the greater the opportunity to work in the country."

The voting started at 08:00 in the morning.

Elections will be held in 22 constituencies, 15 states, 47 governorates and 81 regions. At this stage, 90 candidates will compete for 45 seats in the parliament.

The Islamic Parliament of Iran has 290 seats. Religious minorities also have representatives in the parliament.

According to Article 64 of the Constitution of Iran, Zoroastrians and Jews, Assyrian and Chaldean Christians, as well as Armenians have representatives in the Islamic Parliament.
