The possibility that Turkey will continue to sell war ammunition to Israel raises concerns

According to a report by the Turkish State Statistics Institution, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's government sold weapons to the Zionist regime during its brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and other occupied Palestinian territories.

This situation angered the Turkish people and some members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

According to data published by the Turkish State Statistical Institute, this country exported approximately eighty thousand dollars worth of weapons to the Zionist regime from November 2023 to January 2024 alone.

In the visuals published from the data of the Turkish State Statistical Institute, it is seen that the weapons exported from Turkey to Israel since January 2024 include gunpowder, ammunition, weapons and military equipment.

However, the Turkish Defense Industry Corporation and this country's Ministry of Defense, in separate statements on Tuesday in response to this major controversy, denied any cooperation with the Zionist regime in the field of military industry.

In its statement, the Turkish Ministry of Commerce claimed that the gunpowder and explosives exported to Israel in recent months were not used for military purposes.

Previously, 15 opposition MPs in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and more than 200 MPs from 13 countries announced that they were against arms exports to Israel due to the regime's ongoing war against Gaza.

Turkey is the first Muslim country to recognize Israel and establish bilateral relations with it.

Bilateral relations between Turkey and the Zionist regime normalized in 1949 and later reached cultural, commercial and even military dimensions.
