"I vetoed the 'Russian' law," Zurabishvili said at a briefing.
On May 14, the Parliament of Georgia adopted the controversial bill "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" in the third and final reading, which has been storming Georgia for a long time.
The Law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" provides for the registration in a separate registry of non-commercial legal entities and mass media with more than 20% of their income received from abroad.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, the opposition and Western diplomats are against this bill. they believe that this law will hinder integration into the European Union.
The Georgian authorities claim that the law fully complies with all basic legal principles and has one goal: to reveal the financial sources of non-governmental organizations and mass media.
