The president of Venezuela criticized European rulers for keeping silent about the desecration of the Qur'an
President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela has strongly criticized the rulers of European countries due to their silence regarding acts of desecration of the Holy Qur'an in Sweden and Denmark. In an interview with the Lebanese al-Mayadeen television news network on Monday, Maduro said: "I condemn these discriminatory acts of hatred against Muslim nations." The Venezuelan leader said: "The silence of European leaders on the burning of copies of the Qur'an is surprising, and that silence is equivalent to their participation in that crime." Maduro has said that it is impossible to turn a blind eye to those provocations that humiliate Islam and its followers.
The president of Venezuela went on to ask, "What would European Christians say if the Bible was burned in front of them?" The president of Venezuela has said that it is "quite normal" that the Muslim community in the world has shown an "angry attitude" at the desecration of the holy book. Over the past several weeks, the Holy Qur'an has been subjected to several acts of desecration by extremists in Sweden and Denmark, while the governments of those countries have approved and justified such acts as "freedom of expression." Such actions against the Holy Qur'an have provoked the anger of the entire Muslim community around the world.
