The UN Secretary General will not participate in the Ukraine summit in Switzerland

Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres will not participate in the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Secretary General, Stefan Dujarik, during the briefing.

"He will not go. The UN will be represented at an appropriate level," said Dujarric, answering a question about Guterres' possible participation at the summit.

Swiss authorities will organize a peaceful summit on Ukraine on June 15-16 at the Bürgenstock resort. The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry) reported that Bern had invited more than 160 delegations, including from the "Big 7", "Big 20" and BRICS countries. According to the Swiss authorities, Russia was not invited to the event.

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, this event is "a road to nowhere" and will not contribute to the establishment of peace in any way.
