The US is preparing to increase its military presence in Taiwan
The United States is preparing to significantly increase its military presence in Taiwan, quadrupling the number of soldiers present on the island as part of the training program that the US authorities are providing to the local armed forces. Anonymous sources told the "Wall Street Journal" that in the coming months the United States will send between 100 and 200 soldiers on the island: a significant increase compared to the 30 deployed a year ago. The sources also recalled that the Michigan State National Guard is training a contingent of Taiwanese military, also organizing annual exercises with the participation of various countries.
