The Zionist regime will be punished

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning of retribution against the Zionist regime, promising severe punishment for its atrocities, emphasizing the sanctity of consulates and embassies as extensions of sovereign territory in any nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei on Wednesday morning, in the Eid al-Fitr prayers sermon, referred to the Israeli regime's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus and emphasized: “In the international norm, an attack on a consulate or embassy of any country is considered an attack on the territory of that country, and the evil Zionist regime must be punished for this crime and will be punished.”

The Leader called the Iranian nation, mourning the martyrs of the Zionist regime's attack, martyrs Zahedi and Rahimi and their companions, and added: “Of course, these dear martyrs had been striving for martyrdom for years, and God gave them the reward of their efforts and made them successful.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in the Eid al-Fitr prayers sermon, also considered the bloody events in Gaza as a source of bitterness for Muslim nations in the month of Ramadhan, and referring to the continued crimes of the Zionist usurping regime in this holy month, said: “The evil regime, since its strength doesn’t match that of the resistance forces, kills the child in the mother's arms and the patients in the hospitals, and shamelessly kills tens of thousands of women, men, children and youth before the eyes of the world.”

He strongly condemned the military, political and economic support of Western governments, especially the United States and Britain, for the Zionist criminals, and added: “In the Gaza event, these governments showed the evil nature of Western civilization to the world. Of course, we and the critics of Western civilization had said many times before that the nature of this civilization is hostility and enmity towards spiritual and human virtues, and the performance of the governments supporting the fake Zionist regime in the six months of the Gaza events has revealed this reality.”

Ayatollah Khamenei continued by referring to the cries of so called Western advocates of human rights and asked: “Aren't the tens of thousands of innocent and unprotected martyrs of Gaza human beings? So why is no voice heard from the Westerners?”

Iranians today held the Eid al-Fitr prayers throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran. The emphasis on unity was the final recommendation of the Leader in the Eid al-Fitr prayers sermon.

The Leader stated: “All the people, the youth, the social and political activists and the media activists should know that the success of the nation is in the unity of the word. Of course, political and non-political differences of opinion is not a problem, but creating fake divisions is detrimental to the religion and world of the nation and weakens the country.”
