Trump changes tone on Saudi leaders

The former US president called the king of Saudi Arabia his friend.Donald Trump, who was President of the United States from 2017 to 2021, has now announced his participation in the 2024 US presidential election. Unlike previous statements, he expressed interest in Saudi Arabia, naming the king of that country as one of his friends.

Trump attended The Aramco Team Series and met with members of the Federation of Saudi Clubs in Florida, according to the Rai al-Yaum newspaper."I love Saudi Arabia and its king is one of my friends. They are a great people," he said.

Given Saudi Arabia's financial reserves and economic power, Trump had publicly humiliated Saudi Arabia as a "cash cow" earlier in the previous presidential campaign. Getting high income for the US from this country was one of his campaign promises. Four months into his US presidency, Trump made his first foreign visit to Saudi Arabia. During this historic trip, he signed several unprecedented agreements in the military and commercial fields worth more than $400 billion.
