A wave of protests against the deportation of migrants has risen in the US

Protests against the mass deportation of illegal immigrants have been held in several US cities. The largest demonstration in Los Angeles was attended by thousands of people. The local TV channel KTLA reports.

"Thousands of protesters, speaking out against President Donald Trump's mass deportation and immigration policies, blocked streets and the 101 freeway in historic downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, while smaller demonstrations took place in several cities in Southern California," the channel reported.

The protesters are said to have expressed support for illegal immigrants who could be deported from the United States due to the country's new immigration policy. Some activists waved Mexican flags.

Newsweek reports that protests also took place in Arkansas, Missouri, and Georgia, with the "most intense" protests taking place in Texas and other cities in California.

Recall that Donald Trump and former US President Joe Biden had earlier visited the southern border of the country. Trump had accused Biden of a wave of crime among migrants, and the current head of state had called on him to cooperate.
