US President-elect Donald Trump has encouraged a Florida congressman who celebrated the killing of American citizens by the Israeli army to run for Congress. Trump said in a post on social media earlier today that if State Senator Randy Fine decides to run for Florida, he will have his "Full and Full Endorsement".
Fine, who has a long record of anti-Muslim rhetoric, sparked outrage earlier this year when he praised the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, an American activist who was shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. "Throw stones, shoot. Kill one #Islamic Terrorist. #Just say it," wrote Fine in a message posted on social media in September.
Eygi was participating in a peaceful protest in the West Bank when he was shot by Zionist soldiers. Israel and the outgoing US administration of Joe Biden have dismissed his killing as an accident. Rasha Mubarak, a Palestinian-American activist from the state of Florida said, "Randy Fine is no friend of anyone but fascism".
Mubarak added that Trump's move to approve the congressman from Florida to compete for a seat in Congress indicates the strengthening of solidarity with the actions of chaos, fascist within the capitalist class, whose interests are satisfied by sowing the seeds of division and continuing the imperialist regime.
