11 non-governmental organizations (NGO's) in France have asked the country's government to implement the order of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former head of defense Yoav Gallant.
Those communities, including the Human Rights League (LDH) and the French Palestine Solidarity Party (AFPS), have issued a statement that has asked France to act on the ICC document that orders the arrest of those leaders of the Zionist regime who are accused of war crimes.
The statement emphasized the need for the French government to ensure that it arrests the officers if they enter French territory. In addition, it has pressured Paris to continue supporting the ICC despite the court facing various pressures from outside, stressing: "the release of these documents further emphasizes the need to impose sanctions on the Israeli authorities."
The former Prime Minister of France, Dominique de Villepin, has discussed the ICC warrant on the country's LCI television; and when asked whether France should implement the decision if Netanyahu enters French or European soil, de Villepin replied: "France has already answered this question through former Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne, saying, 'Of course, France will implement the decision of the ICC ."
The International Criminal Court, ICC on Thursday announced that it has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, for their involvement in "war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza." French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lemoine, avoided answering directly whether France will implement the permits, during a weekly press conference when he said, that is a "legally complex issue".
