Hungary: NATO's direct conflict with Russia means World War III
The Hungarian foreign minister described the French president's idea of sending combat troops to Ukraine as "dangerous" and rejected it.
In response to French President Emmanuel Macron's idea to send NATO combat troops to Ukraine, Peter Ciarto described it as crossing a red line. The senior Hungarian diplomat also warned that the presence of European military forces in Ukraine will cause the third world war. Ciarto said about Macron's idea: "This means that we have crossed NATO's red line. After that, a direct conflict with Russia will begin and this will mean the Third World War. Ciarto further said that instead of sending troops to Ukraine, the West should plan how to organize peace talks between Moscow and Kiev. The idea of sending combat troops to Ukraine to fight against Russia was previously rejected by France's NATO allies.
