Trump surrenders to authorities at Fulton County Jail
Former US President Donald Trump has surrendered to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on charges of trying to change the results of the 2020 election. Georgia was one of several key states in which Trump questioned the results of the 2020 presidential election, prompting him and his allies to claim, without any evidence, that the election was rigged in favor of Trump's Democratic challenger Joe Biden. Trump appeared at the Fulton County Jail to plead not guilty in an attempt to change the outcome of the 2020 Georgia election, according to CNN News Agency. The Fulton District Attorney gave Trump and 18 other defendants in the case until Friday afternoon to turn themselves in to authorities in the case. American media reported that Trump was arrested.
Minutes after entering this detention facility, Trump was released from this prison under a $200,000 bail agreement. Under this agreement, Trump can be free during the trial, as long as he does not intimidate or threaten witnesses. Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, his former attorneys, along with six other members of Trump's legal and election team, turned themselves in to a jail in Atlanta on Wednesday. Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis said the men are accused of disobeying the law and discrediting US President Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.
