US President Donald Trump's increased arms aid to Israel, along with his plan to forcibly relocate the residents of the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan, shows that one of his priorities is to change the map of the region and completely destroy the plan to establish an independent Palestinian state.
US President Donald Trump on Saturday formally notified Congress of an $8 billion arms deal reached between the United States and Israel. The arms deal was signed during the previous Joe Biden administration and has now been implemented by the Trump administration. The arms deal includes 18,000 fighter jet bombs, which will be delivered starting in 2025. The arms deal also includes 3,000 "Hellfire" missiles, which are scheduled to be delivered to Israel starting in 2028.
The German newspaper "Bild" has noted that Steven Witkoff, the US President's envoy to the Middle East, has said that Washington has decided to provide GBU-43/B MOAB bombs, each weighing 11 tons, to Israel, adding that previous US presidents, from George W. Bush to Joe Biden as well as Donald Trump in their first terms of office, refrained from providing Israel with these weapons and that their opposition was mainly due to fears of escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Trump announced on January 25 this year that he had ordered the US military to lift the ban imposed by the Joe Biden administration on providing Israel with bombs weighing two thousand pounds each. On October 7, 2023, the Biden administration sent the Israeli regime thousands of bombs weighing two thousand pounds; however, it later claimed that it had stopped sending arms shipments to the Zionist regime after the regime attacked the Rafah area.
Washington has protected and supported the Zionist and brutal Israeli regime in its war against the people of Gaza by providing it with various types of military equipment despite severe criticism from international human rights organizations. A study conducted by Brown University in the United States shows that the value of US aid to the Zionist regime within one year after October 7, 2023 increased to $17.9 billion.
As the war in Gaza continued, the United States justified an unprecedented increase in its arms and military support for the Zionist regime. However, after the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the implementation of its provisions, the question arose: what was the main reason for the continued and increased US arms support after the ceasefire in Gaza and southern Lebanon?
Although some media outlets are trying to link this issue to the possibility of the regime starting a war against Iran, especially after Netanyahu's recent trip to the United States, the truth is that the United States and Israel have measured and recognized Iran's strength and defense capabilities and are still stuck in the quagmire of wanting to fulfill their expansion plans in Palestine and Syria, and are doing everything possible to achieve some of their failed goals in the Gaza war, such as forcibly transferring the population of the area to other countries. The United States and the Zionists are also trying to implement a similar plan in the West Bank, thus essentially preventing the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
It is clear that the Netanyahu cabinet, supported politically and militarily by the Trump administration, wants to advance its plan to forcibly displace the residents of Gaza and prevent the creation of an independent Palestinian state; and the new US military support also plays a special role in the efforts to fulfill these Zionist plots.
