Anadolu news agency reported that the Turkish President's office announced a telephone contact between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres Tuesday (28/11/2023) before the UN Security Council meeting regarding Gaza. In the conversation, the international community's hopes for the UN in responding to the brutal attacks by the Zionist regime in Gaza, solutions to the humanitarian crisis and efforts to build lasting peace in Gaza were discussed. The Turkish President stated that the Zionist regime continuously violates international law and human rights, and according to international law, it must be held responsible for the crimes it commits in Gaza. While offering his condolences to Guterres following the death of more than 100 UN employees in an Israeli attack on Gaza, Erdogan described Guterres' visit to the Rafah border as beneficial and a basis for drawing the attention of the international community to this region.(PH)
