Danilov spoke about the opening of airports that have been closed since the beginning of the war with Russia; “For civil aviation, certain conditions must be met, such as airport security and aircraft insurance. Airports will not open under any other conditions. We want to solve the problem in 2024," he said. However, the EU Council announced the approval of the 12th package of sanctions against Russia discussed among the member countries. Under the new sanctions package, the EU has banned the import, purchase or export of diamonds directly or indirectly from Russia. The ban will apply to diamonds belonging to Russia, diamonds exported from Russia, diamonds transiting through Russia and Russian diamonds processed in 3rd countries. The ban on non-industrial natural and synthetic diamonds and diamond jewelry will take effect on January 1.
