China: The fate of West Asia must be in the hands of the people of the region
Speaking about the tripartite meeting between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saudi Arabia and China, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that we believe that the fate of West Asia should be in the hands of the people of this region.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin welcomed the recent tripartite meeting between representatives of Beijing, Tehran and Riyadh, saying Beijing is ready to play a constructive role and support Saudi Arabia and Iran to improve bilateral relations. Wang Wenbin also added that China supports the efforts of West Asian countries to "strive for national development", "resolve security issues through dialogue" and play a positive role in expanding peace and stability in the region. On Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met and held talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Khani and Saudi Arabian Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Al-Khariji in Beijing. In his meeting with the representatives of Tehran and Riyadh, the Chinese Foreign Minister called for harmony, development of bilateral relations and adherence to the strategic plan of non-alignment of foreign countries in West Asia. During his speech, Wang Yi said that Beijing always supports Arab and Muslim countries and supports the restoration of the legal rights of the Palestinian people.
