UN calls on Israel and Lebanon to "cease fire"
The Office of the UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon and peacekeepers have called on all parties to "cease fire", reports AFP.
The Office of the Special Coordinator and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) "call on all parties to cease fire and refrain from further escalating actions," the joint statement said.
Earlier, Israeli warplanes attacked the territory of Lebanon. Hezbollah then launched hundreds of drones and rockets at Israel in response to the killing of its commander, Fouad Shukr, in Beirut.
