UN condemns Israel for preventing journalists from reaching Gaza

The Secretary General of the United Nations has criticized Israel for denying international journalists permission to enter the war-torn Gaza Strip and said the move aims to hide the truth.

Antonio Guterres on Tuesday called the ban on journalists entering Gaza a move that allows the spread of "misinformation and false narratives to flourish ."

Guterres said in a post on X that denying international journalists access to Gaza is allowing disinformation and fake stories to flourish,"

He said this one day after the Association of Foreign Journalists, an organization representing journalists working in Gaza, reported that Israel continues to prevent international journalists from entering the war zone .

" Israel continues to prevent international journalists from entering any part of the Gaza Strip freely," a statement issued by the FPA said on Monday, adding that the decision raises questions about issues that Israel wants to hide from international journalists .

The opposition to the crimes committed by Israel against the people of Gaza in the world media and the wave of opposition and international condemnation of those crimes have caused the Zionist regime to immediately close the Al-Jazeera TV channel in the Gaza Strip due to the way it reflects news of the regime's genocide in that war.

Israel, which is supposed to be a symbol of democracy in the Middle East, openly violates freedom of speech and media by killing journalists and shutting down free television in occupied Palestine.
