UN: Situation in Gaza Beyond Crisis
The UN Human Rights Commissioner described the resumption of war in Gaza as a major disaster and said that the situation in Gaza had gone beyond a crisis.
Volker Turk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in a statement Friday, "Recent statements from Israel's political and military leaders indicating that they plan to expand and intensify military aggression are deeply worrying." Citing the potential for large numbers of Palestinians to be at risk of being killed or forcibly relocated to the southern region from northern Gaza Volker, Turk called on all parties and influential countries to redouble their efforts to ensure a ceasefire. The main focus of this agreement is the exchange of prisoners and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. After 7 days of ceasefire, the Quds occupation regime launched another attack on the Gaza Strip. The office of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed that the Hamas movement did not carry out its duties based on the plan to release women captives of the Zionist regime and fired rockets into the occupied territories. This claim was made when Hamas not only released the Zionist prisoners according to the agreement, even the freed prisoners praised the Hamas fighters for the treatment they received while they were held hostage.
