US presidential candidate reacts to the resignation of the president of Harvard University
The US presidential candidate responded to the resignation of the president of Harvard University.
Cornel West, reacting to the resignation of Harvard University President Claudine Gay, wrote on social media X: “How sad but predictable that the same figures and forces that promoted ethnic cleansing and massacres against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are ousting the first black female president Harvard! The US presidential candidate explained that such racism against Palestinians and blacks is undeniable and humiliating! West further added that when big money dictates university policy, immature power dictates foreign policy, the moral bankruptcy of US education and democracy becomes apparent! Harvard University President Claudine Gay, who has come under pressure in recent weeks over her speech addressing anti-Semitism at the institution, has resigned after reports of plagiarism circulated. She, 53, was the first woman of African descent and the second woman to be elected president of Harvard University. Her six-month tenure as Harvard's president is the shortest in the university's 388-year history. Claudine Gay was one of three university presidents who attended the US Congress after the October 7 attacks to explain the rise of anti-Semitism at universities. Earlier, Elizabeth Magill, the former president of the University of Pennsylvania, resigned from her position in connection with her testimony in Congress. The attacks of the Zionist regime army on the Gaza Strip have been met with a sharp reaction from the people of the world and the region, but so far international organizations, including the UN, have failed to stop the attacks of the Zionist regime.
