The United Nations has announced that the civil war in Sudan has caused starvation for 20.3 million people. The World Food Program Organization, WFP says that, of the 46 million inhabitants of Sudan, approximately 6.3 million are facing life-threatening food shortages. The report is released just a few days after the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that 40 percent of Sudanese people are facing the threat of hunger. The Director General of WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told journalists in Geneva, Switzerland that the United Nations organization is concerned about the dire humanitarian situation facing Sudan due to the internal crisis that is entering its fourth month. At the same time, various regional and international humanitarian organizations have warned that Sudan, which is currently mired in a civil war of military generals, is at risk of spreading deadly diseases as thousands of unburied bodies are left lying around. on the streets, while the country's health infrastructure has been destroyed.
