US justice accuses Minneapolis police of being 'racist'
The Justice Department accuses the Minneapolis police of rampant racial discrimination and lawless conduct. In the 89-page report drawn up after the killing of George Floyd, American justice describes a police department that violates constitutional rights with the use of "techniques and weapons" against people who have committed minor crimes, including an "unjustified use of Force".
The report is presented by the Minister of Justice Merrick Garland who reports that in the last few hours he spoke with the family of George Floyd, killed by some agents in Minneapolis.
