UN Secretary General condemns Israel for preventing aid trucks from entering Gaza
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned the blockade of aid trucks on the Egyptian side of the border with the Gaza Strip, describing the action as causing "moral outrage."
While on the trip to visit the Rafah crossing, Guterres has warned of the negative consequences of continuing to block aid, saying, "it is time to pour life-saving aid into Gaza. The choice is clear: either increase or starve."
The visit of the Secretary General of the UN is taking place in parallel with increasing international pressure on the Zionist administration of Israel to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, which is in danger of being hit by famine amid a severe shortage of food and water.
Before stopping at the border, where he met with the United Nations humanitarian aid workers, Guterres landed in Al Arish in northern Sinai in Egypt, where most of the international aid to Gaza is provided and stored.
The governor of the area, Mohamed Shusha, told Guterres that about 7,000 trucks were waiting in North Sinai to deliver aid to Gaza, but they have been blocked due to inspection procedures required by the Zionist regime of Israel.
